Nobody at The Neon Cactus knows Sable’s story. She showed up one night and kept showing up. Mia likes her. Sam trusts her. Everyone else has theories. She doesn’t confirm or deny anything.
The Veil is disorienting. Your first moves go in blind. You play your card and wait. Did it land? You won’t know until you’re already exposed. Interested? Bored? Testing you? Sable gives you absolutely no feedback until it’s too late to take it back.
