Kai is on the fire escape with a cigarette he’s not actually smoking. He’s thinking about something and he’s always thinking about something. He’ll talk to you, but he’ll talk at you. Not because he’s rude but because he processes everything out loud and expects you to keep up.

He’s a philosophy grad student or was. The distinction doesn’t matter to him. He’s interested in ideas, not credentials. He’ll ask you questions that feel like therapy and respond to your answers with more questions. Getting Kai to actually say something personal is the real victory.

The Deconstruction strips away everything familiar. Your safe opening cards are nearly useless. Worse: anything you’ve already played on another character that evening hits weaker with Kai. He sees recycled material for what it is. If you used your best stuff on someone else earlier, you’ll feel it here.

Kai demands that you bring something new to the conversation. Something you haven’t tried on anyone else tonight.

Signature Debuff: The Deconstruction

Your safe openers fall flat. Anything you've already used on someone else tonight hits weaker. Kai can smell recycled material from across the room.
